I guess the meds probably work differently-But Protonix takes 2 days to start working for me.

I don't remember how long it took to work, I want to say a day or two, but I myself am also on Nexium. I thought I'd lend my two cents and just tell you that Nexium works very well for me. I very rarely have problems. And I'm on 40 mgs in the morning. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Don't mean to take over the thread!-But has anyone noticed increased bloating after going on acid meds? I strongly suspect the Protonix is contributing to my bloating. It wasn't till I started it several years ago that I can remember such bad distention.

I use to take ummm what what that.....generic of zantac I think then something else & now Nexium. I LOVE nexium. I feel a difference just shortly after taking it. I dont usually have flareups because it controls it well, but if I do & I take it I feel relief right away.
