I need the ADEK vitamins. My medical card won't pay for them. I used to get them for free when I got the Ultrase. Does anyone know if I can still get them free. I have to take them 2 times per day because my vit D is low. They are $35 for a small bottle. Can anyone help with this?

Do you use Ultrase still? If not....any enzymes?

The reason I ask is because just like you could get ADEK with the Ultrase for free, you can get ABDEK with Creon & Vitamax with something.

I am not sure where you can get the ADEK vitamins for free but through the CF Services website they have a vitamin called Vitamax which is ADEKs basically. They are 19.99 a bottle and have 90 vitamins in each bottle.

I have been on them for 4 years now and they work great...just a suggestion if you cannot aquire the ADEKS...

DS' aren't covered by insurance either. When DS was a baby he was the only CFer at the local clinic, so they'd give us bottles freebies once in awhile.

I would check with your clinic -- dietician, etc. Also, I have heard of patients having their doctor write a letter to the insurance company that the vitamins are a medical necessity and getting them covered...
