Advair diskus

I have been on the advair discus 500/50 for...geez...I don't know how many years now lol. I ran out of it for a month or so, and noticed a huge difference in chest tightness, shortness of breath, etc.

It's not so much that I feel better when I'm on it (I guess that is just 'normal' to me), but I feel really bad when I'm not on it.

Also...didn't know it came in a puff metered inhaler...good to know! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I'm with Jessica, I tried Advair and while I thought the little purple device was pretty cool, it didn't seem very effective. I've switched to Symbicort and have been much happier with it.

Hey again my little Christina,
I am trying to get caught up..... It's been really hard with Makailyn being so sick the pass few months.
I was scared when Makailyn was put on Advair (inhaler with the chamber)when you see all the tv remarks about it being life threatning etc. But, the doctor told us that was with the 'diskus', which I don't know why that would make a difference if it's the same medicine.

I must tell you with it her lower lung functions (which determine the asthma component) went up at least 40%, within a week. I couldn't believe it , and it has stayed consistant. She had bad asthma when she was a baby before she was diagnoised. At that time she was always put in the hospital also , because of pnemonia, and the asthma would get really bad. I am still a bit nervous over the scare's about it.

Maybe you could ask for the regular inhaler instead of the diskus.
Let me know what the doctor says..... I know ,I know, I have asked you a million questions . I am very grateful to you!
Good luck,Karla<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
