You know those lawyer commercials that state, " If you or a loved one has been prescribed _____ then you may be entitled to money back due to the side effects of this drug..." and then they list a million things that have gone wrong in ppl who have used the drug? Well, I just saw one for Advair...anyone know anything about this? I've been on Advair for a while before (I'm off of it now, due to a study I'm participating in for simvastatin effect in cf lungs) and it just kinda freaked me out a little. The commercial said that people were starting to experience worsening health conditions what with inflammation and tightness and increased asthma attacks. Death, as always with those commercials, was a side effect too. Anyone seen or heard about this?

There was a thread about this a while back. Advair is safe..... lawyer's are just skum suckers.

You can do an Advair search though and read what was talked about.

Basically a component of Advair is considered, by some, to be slightly dangerous. But it's highly debatable.

I was always scared about using Advair when my doctor prescribed it for me. I have have been on it for a year and a half now and it has been a benefit to me. I used to have exercise induced asthma, and it would drive me crazy.The Advair has helped to calm that down. I just wish all this " sueing everybody for everything" crap would not be allowed to go on. They just make it bad for everyone else by greed, and scare the crap out of those of us who benefit from these medicines.

well actually.. my doctor just took me off advair because he said theres been some new research about it, and they've found that while it DOES help a lot of people (me included) the possible sideffects/negatives have begun to outweigh the help/positives. so he said that he and his little dr friends discussed it, and they're taking people off it at my hospital who have mild to little asthma. i personally think i have mild to heavier asthma, so he's just told me to use my albuteral more agressivly. we'll see this summer when my asthma is usually at its worse though. hope this helps- i would just talk to your doctor about it though.

ps. i wasnt really told what the sideffects were to the advair, but i know they were on the serious side, so thats why he was concerned.

I actually printed the article and took it to clinic, showed it to the doc , it is not the advair but a componet.... he didn't seemed to be concerned and i know that he would have taken Kait off of advair if he thought he needed to. I think that it is drug companies causing all of this. Just my opinion

What a shock. There are side effects to medications????

This is earth-shattering news......

How can this be a conspiracy by drug companies when it's the drug companies that make the meds? It's a LAWYER and UNINFORMED public conspiracy.

People think drugs shouldn't have side effects, which is rediculous.

Lawyers want money and try to scare the uneducated public.

The highest hospitalization rate, for everyone's information, due to liver toxicity is due to TYLENOL.

Ya, you know that drug that doesn't do jack for your headache and everyone takes cuz they think it's mild?

And some people have died from taking Zithromax. And even more people have died from taking Augmentin.

All drugs have side effects people......
