Lindsay,

My best guess is that BOTH my MRSA and age are 'running me down'. I think that my cycles may make things worse, but (in general) the MRSA and age factor are the main issues. Neither have solutions. By going on the pill, it may only knock off the tip of the iceberg but most likely won't do too much.

I really haven't mentioned it to any of my doctors because I don't see a solution. It's something that I have kept to myself. Like you stated, what are they really going to be able to do? They can drug me up, but the problem is still there!!! No thank you!!!

I do think we have that in common which is why I asked how people feel 'in general' ,day-to-day, with CF in their 20's. I know I can't possibly be alone.

Okay, I'm not in my 20's anymore, lol, but...Have you been checked for CFRD or glucose intolerance? I have had bad pms (very tired, SOB, bloating, er, "bad" moods etc.) and since I have been diagnosed with CFRD, I have realized that my bloodsugars run really high the week before my period. I have also noticed that I have the same or similar symptoms when my blood sugars are high at any other time (but not as bad as that week, so it's not all the high sugars . High blood sugars cause inflamation, and inflamation causes tiredness.

I'm still sorting out my insulin amounts for that time, but I am hoping for improvement with my symptoms (I have already seen some small improvements with SOB by just bringing it down a little).

Weight loss (or inability to gain weight) can also be a symptom of diabetes.

Just a thought . I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi Jenny!
Has your diet changed recently? I only thought of it because my CFRD doc and I had a talk yesterday. I have been eating a lot of crap recently, dairy, simple carbs, just junk. Nothing nutritious. Although my PFTs are doing better than ever in the past 3 years, I still felt like crud. Diet definitely is what has been causing me to feel crummy. I never realized it until she pointed it out.

Have you been tested for CFRD?
