after the walk

So we walked in the Great Strides walk yesterday and a good amount of money was raised, over $385,000. Anyways I have decided that I want to become more involved in all the CF stuff other than just caring for my son with CF. I want to do things to help with all aspects of fundraising, awareness, and anything else. My issue is I don't know where to start or how to do these things. Can someone help me to know more?

One of the cheapest, easiest ways I have found.....


IF you can find a reporter at a local paper that is willing to do a "human interest" story & you are willing to share your guts it has a huge impact.

I had our local paper do a write up on my 40th birthday bash last year where I asked that instead of gifts...donations be made. It hit the front paper (granted we are a small area) & it really got the word out.

There are tons of ways, but if you are financially challenged & are willing to put yourself out there....I think this is a great way.

im in the same exact situation as you are! im not sure how much the walk we did raised overall, but my team of 5 raised about 2000 towards it, which i dont think is too bad.

i decided that i want to make it my mission, to do everything that i can. right now though, i feel that my shyness and lack of social ability has gotten the best of me.

there are many things that can be done and i actually got a packet with ideas when i was a team leader- some that i can remember is- do a guest bartender and see if the bar will split the tips 50/50 for donations, bakesales, trying to find local business sponsors, and we even were told the local CFF could give us those things that people can donate $1 and hang on the wall of a grocery store or any local place that may be interested in participating in helping raise $ and awareness.
