Air purifiers

We have been using an air purifier with HEPA filter & carbon prefilter in our dd's room. I was considering putting antoher one in the bathroom since it has no windows and came across one that kills germs by heating air to 200°C.

Has anybody heard of this? Is it safe for ppl w/cf?

If it just utilizes dry heat I can't imagine why it wouldn't be safe. I think it's a great idea, personally- I hadn't heard of this type. We are considering putting a dehumidifier in our bathroom since we are running into mold issues in there <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0"> Now that the boys are so much older someone is constantly showering in there (family of 5) and our bathroom is also poorly ventilated and nothing we are doing/nothing I can find to clean with seems to be sufficiently keeping ahead of the problem.

That looks like a really good product. My only question would be regarding efficiency- I may have missed this piece of data in my reading over the info on the site, but I wonder how long it takes to cycle through the air in the room. Rather than drawing air in with a fan, it says it uses 'convection.' I wonder how efficient that is. I really like the concept though and wonder if anything like that is available over here.

Heat woulod not be good for me at all - can't speak for all CFers. HEAT causes swelling and sickness for me. I use Austin Healthmate. They make different ones. I have the one that is a medical grade. Kills particles in the air and also germs, mold, etc. They are expensive but well worth it. The filter only needs changing 1x per 5 years

Thanks everybody for the comments. I kind of abandonned this and bought a deshumidiier instead. Works pretty well regardless of how long or hot the showers - everything is dry in an hour or So
