Proventil is just brand name albuterol. Along with Ventolin another brand name of albuterol. Same drug
ALL MDI's have to be made with HFA instead of CFCs. FLovent, Albuterol, XOpenex, Atrovent, Qvar etc etc. Not unique to albuterol

I have used the Proventil HFA. The only thing that stands that could be a problem is the mouth piece at that time was a weird shape and didn't fit my AeroChamber
