In the past I never used albuterol b/c it gave me terrible shakes and I just couldnt deal with it. I didnt need it for much, just coughing fits, so I used it VERY sparingly. I then started to use it (the puffer, MDI) daily in March, maybe, along with the HTS, to open my airways...blahblah, you know the deal.
Well I have been wondering recently if I am building up a tolerance to the alb puffer. I dont get shakes anymore practically ever. This week, I have been very tight feeling and like irritated (and inflamed) sounding cough. I have not necessarily had trouble breathing, but I need to take more deep breaths. My CPT lady says I sound fine, and last week my PFT's were in the 80's, exactly what they were two months ago.
I am wondering whether I should switch to the neb. Is the neb more effective at opening airways? I know it works faster. Will the Neb alb will help with my inflammation? Will it help more long term too? I am on 800 mgs of motrin for that though, so I shouldnt be inflamed...
Thanks in advance for your help.
