I've been on Singulair for several years now. I went through allergy testing (twice now) for desensitivity treatment. The testing was 2 arms full of needles and timed measurements of the welts. The docs make a customized serum and I get injected weekly with it. After a few years of increasing serum dosages I'll be desensitized to those allergens and be good for 10-15 years with no more treatments. I'm a little over a year into the weekly treatments and it's doing wonders for my breathing, sinuses and everything.
I live in Maryland and the pollens and allergens here are insane. I never had allergies until I moved here - and I grew up on Long Island! i wouldn't have thought that all that different from the DC area, but apparently it is. I'm allergic to most of the grasses, trees & molds in varying degrees. ~Juliet
