Allergies or a cold?

Hey, everyone! I've been suffering from an extremely itchy throat (back by my tonsils) for the past couple of days and also have really dry eyes, a bit of a sinus headache, and a stuffy (but running when I blow it) nose with occasional sneezing. It doesn't feel like any cold I've had before, and has been just slowly getting worse the past 3 days or so, so I have no idea if its a cold or allergies and was just curious what ya'll think? I was tested for allegies several years ago and am allergic to dust.... It has been really windy here and being in the desert, there are dust pollution advisories, so I don't know if that would be contributing to the problem or what. Any ideas? I just don't know if I should treat it with alka selzer cold or if I should take an OTC allergy treatment.... Urgh. I did take Benadryl last night to sleep and it zonked me out, so of course my nose felt better, but today I woke up really stuffy and scratchy again.

Thanks for any input or experiences with allegies and how they manifest themselves. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

If the stuff coming out of your nose is clear, it's more than likely allergies.

Colds will yield yellow or green nasal discharge.

Eyes usually aren't dry or itchy with a cold - that's typically allergies.

Thanks, Amy... doesn't yellow or green mean infection? I'd heard the before for signs of a sinus infection, but not signs of a cold... Interesting.

Thanks. Anyone else experience the symptoms I'm describing? I just don't know what I should be taking to alleviate it. lol

I started Airborne today just in case its a cold, but just not starting like most colds I've had. Hmmm....

(not that any of it really matters, but I don't want to take unneccessary medications, ya know? lol)
