So it is that time of year again here in the West Virginian hills--fall allergy season. I have always felt that Luke is largely affected by this, but he has been so small and I have just now had adequate time to really track his symptoms. He has been perfectly clear for months and has just now started with some mild nasal congestion. (Me and 3 of my other kids (no cf) have it as well and we have all been diagnosed with allergies and take meds. for it in the fall and spring).
I guess my question is, do your kids take allergy medicine in addition to their other CF meds. and did they undergo any formal allergy testing? Luke does do a nasal spray that was prescribed by an ENT (because when they took an x-ray of his sinuses last spring they were really full). But I am just wondering if he should take anything else and if I should push for allergy tests? We have our clinic appointment coming up in a couple of weeks and I am wondering how pushy I should be about the allergy issue. I don't want him on medicine if it is not necessary, but I think a lot of his congestion comes as a result of the allergy stuff so I am just not sure if I am being as proactive as I can be with that.
Seems like I am always wondering about something when it comes to Luke. I should probably really find a hobby!!!lol. Thanks in advance for any advice!
