mare - have you been on antibiotics much lately? Either Cipro or Tobra? If so, before you try anything else, try a good quality Magnesium supplement for a few weeks. I suffered from what the doctors assumed was anxiety when all it was, was Magnesium deficiency. Had all the symptoms you mention.

I tried the magnesium in the past and I got diarrhea. It did help with the rapid heart beats though.
Just got out of the hospital, spent 5 days in with IV steroids and some antibiotics. Got to see the psychiatrist as well. She prescribed Zoloft and Seroquel. Have only taken the Zoloft once before coming home. OH I HATED IT. I was totally zonked, not even in a good way. The dr wants to blame the fact I was just discharged from the hospital and tired out. I think I may try the Seroquel at another time. Supposedly I can use that and adjust , my doses by breaking the pills. Going to gain some strength first.
Anyone have experience with either one of these meds??

mare - are you on azithromycin - these symptoms are similar to ones that i get when i am on the higher dose.
