Amazing PFTs

Congrats! Big fan of exercise here too. I've had a huge quality of life improvement since taking it seriously 3+ years ago. Of course it is a combination, like you noted, of being okay enough to be able to exercise, and then making yourself do it. A standard I set for myself a while back was no more than 1 day in btw workouts unless I am pretty sick. Even then, I don't skip walking my dog for 10-15 minutes a day.

Yesterday, one of the zumba teachers at my gym told me I should be an instructor. My first thought was, "How's about them apples, bronchiectasis?" I dance as hard as the instructors, which cannot be said of everyone in the room, and I cough, cough, cough all the way home (and during class).

Amazing improvement in your numbers. Congrats again!
I agree 100%...I run, bike, lift, swim, whatever it takes! I, personally, believe that vigorousy exercise is our secret weapon. Keep taking your meds, nebs, whatever else - exercise isn't a sub. I also think the benefit is more case by case, but get moving .

As soon as I stopped high school sports and started driving everywhere instead of walking is when I saw a massive decrease in FEV1. I kept up with airway clearance but that clearly isn't enough like all of you have been saying. So I just joined a gym and am praying that it's not too late to bring my pft's up. I was at clinic today and my best fev1 was only at 45%. If I can even just get it back up to the 60's I'll be so happy.

I wonder if we can create a group to help encourage one another to keep up with exercise? Any ideas?

Keep yourself healthy and active.

Good luck!
