Amphotericin b

Happy Friday!

I have had APBA for over 3 years and did all the steroids and anti-fungals. The steroids really messed with my blood sugar levels and are just a nightmare. I have had an allergic reaction to all the oral anti-fungals.

I just started xolair last week. Today I just started amphotericin b today for the fungus. I was told it is usually used for transplants, but since nothing else has worked. I was curious if anyone has had experience with amphotericin b. Any side effects, how long were you on it, and what the dosage was/is?

I am just so excited to start something that is not steroids and may work<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Josh did ampho nebs last June for 6 weeks for a fungus. They seemed to help but we also did some oil of oregano drops along with a low-sugar diet and green smoothies.
I'm sorry but I can't recall the dose.

I hope it works for you!

Adam did the amphro b iv's for about 1 month and the vfend for a year. He did well on both with no side effects.

I did the Ampho inhaled. I had a horrible experience with it. I was on it for about three weeks, felt fine. Then the fourth week I got very sick 104 temperature, body aches, and spent a week in the hospital. What seemed to work better for me was IV Caspofungin. I had to commit to three months. It was the only anti fungal I didn't have an allergic reaction to. Good luck with your APBA. I am still battling it<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
