Another CFRD question.

I'm glucose impaired so I'm cutting way down on sugars to help put off becoming cfrd.

When I work out or get overheated I can get dehydrated and feel light headed quickly (I'm sure the same for many of you too). One of my tricks has always been to make a glass of gatorade, from the powdered stuff, and it puts me back to normal pretty fast. I like the taste of it when I use a lot of the powder which means it's probably pretty high in sugar at that point.

Do you think it's okay to drink when I get to the super depleated stage? Or is that not a good idea and I just switch to plain water at those times?

Thanks!

If it's a dehydration issue and not blood sugar related, what about using propel (made by gatorade)? It's a sugar free version. They make mini-packets to put water bottles... Don't think they make larger containers yet.

Gatorade is just as bad as soda for your blood glucose levels. You could either switch to that new G2 stuff if you are really addicted, but I am a fan of Glaceau Smart Water. It comes in huge bottles, and tastes just like water. I don't think it has sodium in it though, so just eat some salty things <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

And gatorade is really bad on your teeth as well. It's actually worse than soda.
