Anti-Inflammation Diet, Supplements, other "Natural" Therapies

Like Lilismom, I have The Anti-Inflammation Diet and Recipe Book. My dad stole it before I could get a chance to read it, but as I flipped through, it looks like a really good book. I had to order a second copy so Dad could keep mine!

Since the book has recipes and suggestions of what TO eat, it is very helpful. Dad's review: slightly boring, but the diet looks really healthy. He's looked into quite a few different "diets", he said the Anti-Inflammation book makes sense. (this comes from an engineer, not a nutritionist). <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I think it is quite a coincidence that I have an allergy to dairy, white potatoes, tomatoes and bell peppers, which most anti-inflammatory diets suggest you stay away from.

This is quite different from the usual American diet. I find it quite frustrating. I am always on the go and fast food breaks all the rules. Does anyone have any suggestions/recipes for quick on the go, high fat, high calorie, anti-inflammatory foods?

Not sure if this fits in with the diet but I find peanut butter sandwiches are great for a quick snack. I make them using multi grain bread, real salted peanut butter (not the sugar kind from supermarket), and a little Cascadian Farms brand grape jelly. I enjoy finding substitutions for typical American foods.

there is an awesome book called 'prescriptions for nutritional healing'. you can get it at borders. i've based most of my health decisions on tips from that book-there is a whole chapter on cf in it.
it explains supplements and herbs on a chemical level, and has great source info. not hocus-pocus-y nonsense.
