Whenever I am on Levaquin I have very odd, vivid, and memorable dreams. Does anyone else have this problem. I find myself waking up a lot and I seem to be in that twilight state of sleep that you tend to remember dreams. Does not make for a very restful night!!

Oh my gosh, I was on a med a long time ago, I can't remember the name of it (I'm probably allergic to it now) and I had the WORST nightmares. I hated going to bed because I KNEW I'd be dreaming about something horrible.

You're experiencing a known side-effect of Levaquin. Whenever I'm on it I have crazy, vivid dreams and some hallucinations at night too. When I'm on it I insist that we leave the bedroom door open, because I hallucinate that there are red and green bats flying in the corners of the ceiling. I leave the door open so they can fly out. Weird, huh?

I learned a really interesting psychological trick that can help with bad dreams. When you're in a bad or weird dream and you're aware of it (or if the person you're sleeping next too notices that you're agitated in your sleep) turn your pillow over. Tell yourself that by turning over the pillow, you're "changing the channel" on your dream. It's a good fake-out for your brain, and for me it actually works.
