Antibiotics three times a day

When you do oral antibioitics three times a day do you do take them every 8 hours or do you space it out while awake 3 times a day? The reason I ask is because Maggie has to take Zyvox 3 times a day and I know it upset her stomache so to wake her up to take it stinks. Last time she took it it was twice a day, so I gave it at 8pm and 8am. Thoughts?

I'm fortunate with DS, I'm able to give him his meds while he's sleeping -- except for his dreaded septra tablet, which he despises. He's been on a 4 a day med for a long time and I set our alarm to give him the one capsule in the middle of the night on a spoonful of applesauce followed with a drink of water. I try to space them out best I can, but sometimes it's difficult.

IMO, more important to make sure she's getting the med than having her spit it out, throw it up and not get it. It's not like you're giving it to her all at once. Once heard about another patient who took her 4x/day abx all at once. Ugh!
