Landy - I was disabled in 2004 and just had nicolas 3 weeks ago.

As far as my benefits my father passed away when I was 16. When I became disabled since he was no longer living a child can use a deceased parents work credits if they are greater then the work credits that you have. Which in my case it was since I was only I think 23 at the time. When you call in and start the whole diability process they look up what they think an estimate would be for you and a monthly payment. With mine they automatically had me under my dad's I guess because I had receieved childrens survior benefits from age 16-18 that was to my mom when my dad passed away.
