Anyone else with CF here play an MMORPG?

So far, I've only met one other, out of the thousands that play mmo's, that has CF.
Kinda peaked my curiosity really.

I mean, I meet plenty of people on them with mental conditions, and really bad physical conditions, but not many with CF.

So, are MMO's and other online games something that alot of people with CF tend to not get into? or have I just had no luck?

*to try and keep this more on topic with the section*

It seems like one of the perfect alternatives really.
As we get older, and our condition progresses, we lose the ability to do alot of things we used to.

Stuff like this is something we can do even when we're bed ridden really.

So why don't I find more doing it?
What is it that you all find yourselfs doing once you get to that point?

I used to play tons. I played EQ for many years, had several chars of max lvl, and for all intents and purposes "beat the game", as in beat all the bosses many times over and farmed everything like crazy on many different max lvld chars. I played a few others, but nothing else stuck as much as EQ. Star Wars Galaxies, Planetside, and several others. Now i'm very casually playing EVE online (just logging in to set a long skill then logging out), and waiting to hear about Vanguard. Last MMO I was really into was WOW. I played the hell out of that, and regrettably was addicted again (like I was in EQ, though not as bad). I maxed out 2 chars and nearly had a third maxed out, and at the time we had beaten everything in the game except the one end boss that at the time was "unbeatable". I was over the game, and was feeling bad dejavu to EQ (with them coming out with an expansion, guild drama, etc). My health was better due to OO and supplements and I was seriously wanting to go back to work, and I knew a MMORPG and real play time wouldn't have a place in that.

Hell, even a few regular games I was playing before working, I haven't been able to touch since going back to work. When i have time off from work, I either go to the gym, do errands, do house work, make phone calls, look into investing, or just plain old relax/sleep.

I did sell both of my EQ accounts for good money before that game market collapsed into peanuts though. I sold my WoW guy for decent cash also. I had a ton of great memories from those games, but if I could do it all over again, knowing what I know now, i'd steer clear of MMORPG's and go into college earlier and start working earlier and have a much better professional life now.

But considering the title of your thread (about things to pass the time doing when you are too sick to do what you used to do), MMO's are a good source of killing time.

yeah, that's kinda more or less what I was getting at. heh

I played the hell outta WoW too.
lvl 60 tauren warrior, lvl 60 tauren shaman, lvl 60 NE hunter. all on pvp servers, all beefed out in purples (like the rest of the community now)
my girlfriend is a lvl 60 tauren druid too.

We have alot of fun owning alliance togeather. XD

Right now im playing FFXI and planetside though. WoW's kinda crappy atm. :/

I started on Ultima Online, played it for 5 years. Was such a great game for it's time.

Never got into MMO's. I see all the drama that goes on in a forum, and I can't begin to imagine the crap that would go on in a gaming version 0.o. RPG's in general give me a hard time. I like fast-paced action, not having to stop and beat the crap out of annoying, menial creatures trying to level up so I can beat the next boss. I'd just rather go and kick @$$ before the enemy knows what hit them.

I do game, however...a lot! DMC, Zelda, RE...those are my types of games. E3 was the highlight of the year so far. I'm waiting anxiously for the Wii and Zelda: Twilight Princess. Sony can keep their PS3, though...for $600, I can come up with better ways to spend my money.

I do agree, though, gaming is a great way to pass the time, especially while doing treatments. Gets my mind off ot it, and it makes time go by a helluva lot faster!

Well lilith you might want to check out MMO's in general. Some are free downloads, with very minimal monthly payments, and are quite rewarding. It's not like every game is like dealing with some peoples drama on here. Many games are very welcoming and friendly in general, and you can have a great time, for as little as a free download and $9.99 a month, and you can play for an endless amount of time. I personally spend more than that on a slurpee and a big slimjim and maybe some cornuts or a lotto ticket.

I'm just sayin, don't let the tardo idiots here make you think a MMO will be a bad decision, I won't lie, I had a BLAST playing the ones I played. There are some websites that rate many of them. MANY of them are now free downloads and very chep monthly payments. If you like a game like Link on the SNES (or whatever it was last time around), you would LOVE something like WOW, or other MMO's...Don't hesitate...If you have a ton of time to chill out with due to your health, don't be put off, look into some games and have some fun...you only live once

I had to google MMO 'cause I'm a "tech-tard", so obviously I don't play. But my son plays runescape and some others.

Sean,

I have a few friends that play. One of them is really into WoW. Perhaps I'll try it out on her comp for a while just to get a feel for it...

I know X-Play on G4 rates it really well. That and EverQuest.

Not too concerned about online drama, its just RPG's themselves that give me a hard time. I'm not a very patient person, so I usually don't do well or don't finish the game. The last RPG I actually got through was Kingdom Hearts II, but I couldn't beat the side battle with Sephiroth because I wasn't at a high-enough level. And the game before that was Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. That one I just gave up on because I was tired of running around and leveling up.

But, you're right. Anything's worth a shot. I might try it out.

Enjoy.

(I say planetside because it's a massive FPS/MMO, not much RPG in it)

Fable LC for PC was REALLY good. I have tons of friends on TeamSpeak the play WoW a ton! Once the PS One emulator comes out for PSP I'll be playing RPG's like a mo. I've never gotten into MMO's because all the descent ones have monthly fees.

since when was a montly fee a problem? you spend more on popcorn and a movie for a few hours of entertainment, then you do on a months worth of entertainment from an mmo.
