anyone flown lately?

Just be prepared -- everything labeled and visible. We really haven't had issues lately, except DH had some stuff -- toothpaste --- in his shaving kit that wasn't in a plastic baggy and they gave him a tough time, so he tossed it. Then was told, "Well you didn't NEED to do that". I actually get hassled more at our small local airport than I have in Denver, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Cabo, Cancun... Last time we went to Mexico they pulled us aside at the local airport to scan our "breathing device" (nebulizer), then after a lengthy wait made DH plug it in and turn it on before we could go. And don't get me started about the "pat downs" -- felt like I needed a shower after all the groping <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My cousin's wife did get hassled last month when she flew here from Denver because she used gallon ziploc bags for her toiletries, so before she left our house for her flight home she switched everything to quart and sandwich size.

YES! Keep everything with its original labels and containers. Don't put your pills in one of those pill-minder things (the days of the week pill boxes or the like.) You can ask your pharmacy for duplicate labels if you need them for this purpose. Just explain what you're doing.

Also, ziploc bags may be handy, but your pills stay fresher in their original containers.

Above all, keep a good attitude. Some of this is frustrating and a hassle. Getting crabby with the TSA agents doesn't do anyone any good. Know the rules, follow them, and be polite.

I actually contact our pharmacy and ask them for smaller bottles with prescription labels. For pulmozyme or tobi, I pry the label off the box and stick it onto one of the smaller packets. Some of DS's stuff is in liquid form and for a week trip, I don't need to bring along a pint of liquid actigall, just a few ounces. On a side note, because he is on a lot of liquid meds yet, I do keep a baggy with his days drugs in oral syringes in a small cooler. In the past they've studied it carefully on xray, but it's never been an issue.

If it helps you to keep up with it... bring your weekly pill container. Just don't fill it until you get to your destination. I myself bring all my meds in their original rx containers... but then when I get to where I'm going, I fill the weekly thing, so it's still easy enough.

I hope that made sense?

I always keep my RX's in their original bottles. Especially when I'm flying out of the country. Another good reason for this, the pharmacy's phone number, RX number, dosage, etc are on there and just in case I'd ever stay longer than expected, I'd know what I needed to re-order, etc. (Worst case scenerio....a tsunami hits or the USA is bombed again & flights are shut down).
I like to be over-prepared for everything.
Have a WONDERFUL vacation.
Safe travels to you,
