i had a g-tube form about 11 to 17 i hate to say this but it was the dumbest thing ihad i didnt think it halped me at all because for the firs 4 years i dint really gain wieght but wen i went into high school i hit my growth spert and grew to 5'8 and 133 pound the reason y i didnt think it helped is because i was always super active and had like a 3 to 5% body fat

hey im kelsey, im 15 i'v had a g-tube since i was 4! i'v had it for so long i dont really know the difference! and up until about 7th grade (3 years ago) i was perfectly fine with it,
then i started getting really bad pains around my g-tube. i went to see a few diff doc's but none of them knew what it was. i think the worst part of that was when one of my cf doctors told my mom i probably just wanted attention and i was faking it! a few months ago they found out it was kinda like gallstones which isnt rare in people with cf.

just a hint to anyone w/ a feeding tube, i found it really works if you get a big waterproof bandaid! it will cover the g-tube and it makes it not stick out as much!
and it really helps when you want to go swiming in a 2 piece!!
and if someone asks what it is and u dont feel like telling them i'v told some people it was a dog bite (kinda weird) but they just say "o ok"and leave it at that

I feel your pain.I got the stupid button last summer.It's disgusting!!!Stuff is always spewing out of it and it early got infected i have to tape it everytime i use it at night,and the stupid machine kepps me up at night sometimes.My stomach is always sticky and dirty from the use and not only that I gained only 11 pounds in six months and my doctor is always pesturing me about how im suppossed to be on the fifth percentile [at least 90lbs]!!!It is very emmbaressing also, at school because I feel like people are always wondering about what that bump is under my stomach. It is<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0"><img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif" border="0"> a very annyoing hassle that I knew that would not be fun.To bassicly sum up what i am saying is that I hate it ,but im going to be stuck with it for a few more years and we just need to accept who we are and hang on.
