My name is Sam, im 23 yr/old with mild to severe CF living in Auckland New Zealand. This is my first ever post, as i am fed up with not getting an answer from my doctor.

I have had a regular fever for around 3 months which is really affecting my day to day living. Always cold in the day, and then go to bed freezing but with a really high temp only to wake up in the middle of the night covered in sweet and really hot. My doctor has done the usual tests (blood cultures, urine sample, stool sample, spetum sample chest x ray CT scan etc).

Is there anyone else out there who has experienced such a regular and vicoous fever? Any answers would be great.

Sam.

Hi Sam,

My name is Annie from California and I too am 23 with CF. Like you I experience alot of rediculous fevers, about 3 to 4 a week. My doctor also did alot of the usual tests and found nothing. I spoke to a few folks at UCSF who told me that this happens because the bacteria level in our system is so high and it's our bodies natural way of fighting off infection. Unfortunately there isn't alot that we can do. They told me the only thing to do is take Tylenol every 8 hours like clock work to ward off the fevers. Sorry I can't give you something more concrete. Hope you feel better soon,
-Annie
