Ok so i woke up and the upper right lung hurts quite a bit, when i take in a deep breath, or when i cough, especially when i ough. Should i go to work or call my doctor? I would work if my job was relaxed, but i do a lot of walking and i can't see myself doing that with my chest feeling like this? Any ideas?

I do autogenic drainage, and couldn't think of doing that right now. Everytime i cough it's likebeing stabbed.

I'm going in for an xray later i think. I'm gonna go to work and have them call me there. We'll see what happens.

I'll post you guys later on.

ps. I could tell that there was pain all night, so it's lasted more than a few hours.

Kiel--

Three times over the past 5 years I have had sudden onset of extreme pain in my Right lung which would last several hours and would not completely go away for a number of days, as long as 5 days. The pain felt like a cramping pain and was very intense when starting out. The first time I had it my doctor at the time put me take through all sorts of tests (chest x-ray, ultasound, blood work etc... but by the end of the day, when the tests were done I had felt 50 percent better and the tests showed nothing so we did nothing and eventually it went away. This again happened less severe two times since and my current doctor said that it is probably a mucus plug causing the pain. Drinking fluids and activity is important to help open up the airways (not testing at those times were done... it just cleared up over several days. The last time it happened to me I was lJuly 4th. You should check with your doctor but remain claim. If it is what I had I was scared as the pain was very intense but with the passing hours, and it took many hours, it began to clear up. Good luck

I had this once, horrible pain, could not even take a full deep breath, thought I was going to pass out from the pain and shallow breathing. Had an x-ray and it was pnemonia. So, I'd say call the doc and get an xray to be sure it is not something to worry about.

Ok what the *****

so i went in today, at like 930. Turns out they think my chest pains were cause by a mucous plug...and the reasoning for my pain being that when a plug occurs, your lung kinda deflates, which causes tension on your ribs causing your pain (you have no pain sensors in your lungs.)

here's the funny part. They realized that i have been culturing pseudo since December, and they failed to read that on my charts (it's a light growth.) I also read that i culture Haemophilus influenzae and aspreigillus. No one told me these things (these were cultures done before OO, in december)

I dunno, just kinda bugs me. I wish they would be more talkative about what's going on. The GOOD thing is that since doing OO, and having my cultures done in Feb, I only culture Haemophilus influenzae, staph and pseudo (very lightly) and that I DO NOT culture MRSA anymore. I have no idea why. I'm in the dark with everything that is going on right now hehe

I did a culture today and I'm going to investigate everything that i grow and see what's going on as of now.

Thanks for the update Kiel. I am sure the pain will completely pass with a little time. What good is have a culture done if they are not going to tell you the results? This would more than bug me! Your doctor needs to know that you want to know everything and be part of the decision making process of treatment. Let us know how your lastest culture turns out. You mentioned that you are taking OO. How much and how are you administering it? Do you feel any different since taking it? I hope your pain subsides soon.

Coughing up a plug = popping a zit.

So satisfying.

Keep us informed Kiel. Good to know the OO is probably helping you in some ways. I was thinking of creating a large post soon, but I will wait a while, and make it closer to my one year anniversary of using the stuff.
