Every year I coordinate gift wrapping at Borders for CFF donations. This year our local store is having us there 5 days. Yesterday my neighbor who is 13 was there gift wrapping with her mom (thank you God for volunteers!) and someone wrote a generous check to the CFF in honor of her two nieces, Gina & Joy, with cf.
It's evident that the downturn in the economy has effected donations by how little we made each hour and per wrap as compared to previous years but a few more generous donations made it surely worth our while.
And it's like I tell my volunteers, if we weren't out there asking for it by providing the wrapping service we wouldn't be getting the money. Well except for donations like this. I would hope that with 2 nieces if she was able to make an annual donation she would.
Happy Holidays you all!
