I don't live in either of those states, but I am in Florida, which has pretty bad humidity, too. Most days are fine for me, but when we get into the heat of summer, I pretty much stay indoors unless I'm in my parent's pool. Humidity can make breathing difficult, and I personally find the winter months much easier to handle. But that is just my experience. For the most part, things are fine. Its just the summer months that can be killer on my lung function...

We live in Knoxville TN raising our little girl who is 3 with CF. The heat is not so bad for the most part, but the humidity can be pretty bad on some days. If you have allergies/asthma I would put that into serious consideration as these parts are always at the top of the list for worst places to live for asthma/allergy sufferes. As far a practices here there are a few doctors to choose from who have adult CFers, I would recommend Dr. Schriver, Dr. Martinolich both with Knoxville Pulmonary Group at the Univeristy of TN Hospital, Dr. Estes he is with Statcare Pulmonary. Those I know of have adult patients with CF, I used all of them during my days as a medical rep. for Pulmonary practices when I had questions about my daughter.

We lived in NC for 4 years. The clinic at UNC Chapel Hill is AWESOME! Depending on where you are from, living in the south can be an adjustment. I couldn't get over how dirty things seemed. About the weather--it was definitely hot and humid, and was definitely uncomfortable. I don't think that it really changed how my husband (w/ CF) felt though--also, because it was so darn hot and humid in the summer, we stayed indoors most of the time.

what do you mean how dirty things seemed? I am confused....

Anyway, I am moving to South Carolina in Sept/Oct... and I wonder how the hot humidity is going to be for me as well..

I was just really surprised at the lack of cleanliness in public places, like restaurants and even in the hospital. This is a generalization of course, but in general places were not as clean as they are on the West Coast. We used to joke that we learned not to look at window sills or floors <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
