I can't tolerate any inhaled abx anymore. Tobra/Tobi and colistin make me really short of breath. For now I just do the vest and inhale hypetonic saline and pulmozyme.
Anyone else in the same boat? Wondering if you are able to stay relatively healthy w/out the inhaled abx?

I get bad bronchospasms with any inhaled antibiotics.I haven't been able to do them for a few years now.I have to do a rotation of oral antibiotics at all times. As long as I'm on the oral ones My pfts are ok as soon as I go off oral the pfts drop real low.I have MRSA and psuedamonas.I also have abpa (mold allergy).Maybe with oral antibiotics you'll be OK.

I only did TOBI for 2 rounds and I didn't tolerate it well - plus my labs show no improvement and a TOBI resistant PA, so for now I am only on the VEst and hypertonic Saline. I am going ot be trying the NAC soon too.

Oral abx would be a waste of time for me. they are not strong enough and I took bactrum and augmentin for years so my bugs are pretty resistant to those. I don't think Cipro is one you can take long term but it doens't do much anyway.
