anyone use the Orec Air Purifier??

Has anyone tried the Orec air purifier, does it work as well as they say it does? I am thinking about getting an air purifier and I've read on here not to use the Ionic ones or true Hepa. I've seen the infomercial and looked on the computer about it, but I want some feedback if someone here has used it and were satisfied before I go out and buy one. Thankyou

I just got an air purifier last night. I wanted a hepa filter but the ones they had, i couldnt afford so i got one by Hamilton Beach, called "True Air" allergen reducer. I know it isnt a hepa, but its better than nothing. I may look to replace the filter with a hepa one if i can find the right size.

I have two hepa filters, one for my bedroom and one for my daughters. I bought them at an auction for craftsman tools (sears). These are returns, but there hasn't been anything wrong with them. They work fantastic. I bought them for $40 each. New filters for them would cost $100. I also have a non-sears hepa filter, but it doesn't work anywhere near as well as the sears does.

We also use a vacuum called a Rainbow. It's the best investment for a vacuum I could have made. We've had it for over 12 years, never had it break. It uses water as it's filtering method, so there is no nasties put back into the air. They aren't cheap. You can find them used, sometimes.

We looked into air purifiers when our children were born/younger. We learned that all "filters" are passive filtration systems, and require the problem to come to them. This does not work very efficently or effectively (in my opinion). While researching air purifiers we learned about a system that is an "active" purification system. It goes to the problem. After learning more about the technology we wanted to try one. Boy, are we glad that we did. What a difference it made in our home. If you have not already purchased an air purifier and if you want to know where to learn more about an active air purification system that will treat the air in your entire home let me know. Also, if you are already set on the Oreck then you may want to check out QVC's website. They were offering a greatly reduced price on the Oreck Air Filter. I think it was around $200 each compared to Orecks SRP of $349.00.
