This is a really rare case. As a rule only people who's immune system are compromise or constantly being taxed by either microbial or viral infection are really at risk. I have PA and work in a research lab where we work on CF projects. To date, I have picked up everyone's major bug, and no one in the lab has picked up PA from either me or any sputum samples. On a separate note there was a paper about 5-7 years ago where a house cat picked up a CF patient's PA. The cat had other issues I just can't remember what it was.
