Aspirating formula?

My 1 mo old got into a frantic fit during a feeding yesterday and aspirated some formula I think. He seems to breathe normally some of the time and then wheezes other times... He coughed yesterday when he choked on the formula and he's maybe coughed 2 times today- a single cough each time... what do I do??? He's sleeping normally and eating normally still... and not running fever or anything, so I really doubt the wheezing at times is due to anything other than the formula.

my little one had such severe reflux when a baby she had to sleep in what is called a slope and sling (basically a wedge) and i couldnt lay her down to change her diaper or she would start to aspirate....feeding were a nightmare, constant vomitting and aspiration..hence the nissan procedure and all is well..i guess my point is (lol) that it didnt have any impact on her lung function and she did it ALOT, at least a couple times a day for about 2 months!! so i wouldnt get alarmed about the aspiration...something you may want to consider is buying a stethescope...i got one from a friend who is a nurse and my daughters doc taught me what to listen for, that way you will kind of "know" if there is really a lung issue or if it is just something bothering their throat. God bless.

If you're really concerned you could do an extra CPT treatment to "beat that wheeze" out. DS had an UR bug when he was about 7 months old, so we increased his treatments from 3 to 4 times a day. Did mini cpt treatments.

Well, we have a stethescope so we listened... and determined that the wheezing we hear is positional and seems to come from his throat- not his lungs. His actual breath sounds are completely clear. Probably just the normal newborn squeaks and gasps we've heard before but I'm listening with heightened awareness after that feeding yesterday.

He got in a funk and wouldn't stop crying after I fed him his rice cereal and enzymes and when I gave him his bottle to wash it down with he literally inhaled it and coughed. Scared me to death. I'm just glad to know I'm just being an overconcerned mommy.
