COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHO OR WHAT THE "ATTACK POSSE" IS??? I SEE IT SIGNED UNDER COMMENTS WITH THE WORD "PROUD MEMBER" & I'M CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT EXACTLY IT'S ABOUT, IT'S VALUES AND WHAT THE "MEMBERS" STAND FOR.

We meet the 4th tuesday of every month at 4am @ Area 51 (The Kennedy hangar btw, not the Jefferson hangar like last time Amy - DUH!) to discuss new and improved ways to subvert societal values and sabotage the structural integrity of stairs in old folks homes, hack into late night feed the children television ads and replace the phone number to call in to donate with the over eaters anonymous line, and many other villainous activities.
Our secret handshake takes many months, to years to master seeing how it is a combination of picking your nose AND punching yourself in the face with the same hand that you are picking your nose with at the same time.
You can't openly ask to join by the way. We have to notice you and your amazingly creative villainous activity and seek you out while you sleep.

People shutting up and letting you actually think, read, or enjoy listening to downloaded late night talk shows or audio books late at night at work when you sit by them.
Violence.
Lifting weights.
Feeling good.
Remembering that Memorial Day has purpose and isn't just an excuse to char meat on the grill.

Since you are kind of new here you probably haven't followed a lot of the drama in some recent threads. The attack posse title is a joke. In my opinion, it was a creative reaction to a lengthy and heated dialogue between some forum members a while back.
Don't let it bother you. Again, in my opinion, some people enjoy the humor. Take what you need from the forum and leave the rest.

Mandi, do't worry. This <i>can</i> be a serious forum, don't get in a dither. You need to cruise this site, and check out the blogs to see just how serious we can be. But we have all kinds of personalities here, some are just a little wackier than your average nut. Humor is our saving grace here, and even tho I find myself wondering what the sane people are doing sometimes, you have to realize that a lot of what is said here is said with" tongue in cheek". You need to learn to skim, stop, shake your head, or laugh. I thing you'll like us if you stick around.

Here I will be constructive:
How To Disable the Caps Lock Key
1. Make a copy of the System file (in your System Folder).
2. Open the copy with ResEdit.
3. Open the KCHR resource.
4. Select one of the keyboard layouts (I used the U.S. System 6 layout).
5. Choose Duplicate from the Edit menu.
6. Highlight the duplicate and press Command-I.
7. Name the new layout something like No Caps Lock.
8. Open that layout by double-clicking.
9. Press the Caps Lock key. You'll notice that the picture of the Caps Lock key onscreen darkens.
10. Drag the lower case letters in the upper window to the appropriate spots on the picture of the keyboard (drag "a" to the "A" key).
11. Close and save the window. Quit ResEdit.
12. Name the altered system somthing like Altered System.
13. Drag your real System out of the System Folder and replace it with Altered System (DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR OLD SYSTEM! You might need it again).
14. Once Altered System is in the System Folder, rename it System.
15. Restart your Mac.
16. To get rid of Caps Lock, open the Keyboard control panel and select the No Caps Lock layout.
17. Pushing Caps Lock will now seemingly have no effect.

Well opinion noted. She asked what we stood for. Did you or others REALLY want a long list of what I personally stand for? Was I supposed to come up with a list of what i think others associated with what she was questioning stood for? Should I have just answered "An overly drama oriented person on here who thought they had more authority than they had made a large post asking others to leave the forum"? You know that wouldn't have gone over well, and would have only served to start more monkey poo throwing.
You can never win around here with you people. I could have said "Yes", "No", "I don't know", "Read further through the forum if you want to know more", or "I like pancakes" and there is no proper way to answer her original post that would be sufficient enough for everyone here, so why try? It would be like asking (If someone had "Proud member of the Care Bear League - Maning the Fuzzy Smile Gun with due diligence nightly since 03/21/05" in their sig, and then she ask the same questions. What do you respond with?

Besides, (and I have never personally cared, it really doesn't bother me) there are some people who frequent the internet who hate people who use all caps in an entire post. You know who you remind me of.......the "fat kid" at school.
He is always cracking jokes and on the outside people see him as quite confident. He is popular because he is funny and can make people laugh. It is his "coping mechanism" to make people think he is happy with himself.
Inside he is crawling with insecurities and self doubt.

I think you will find invaluable information on this site, so I hope you will stick around. In answer to your question, the "attack posse" was a tongue in cheek response to a thread that had some people on polar opposites of an issue. For the most part, people seem to have moved on. However, I myself wonder about the necessity of continuing the "club," since as time goes by and new people join the forum, they won't understand the history and may misinterpret it to mean that there are rude and nasty people on the forum.
To the attack posse members - in light of all the accolades I read from the individual attack posse members to Imogene for her post about kindness and tolerance, would you at least consider whether it's time to move on and delete the reference? I am in no way meaning to criticize you, but just asking you to think about it. Either way, I'll still keep participating, and, Mandi, I recommend that you stick around too because there is much to learned from everyone here.

Yes, crawling. Crawling right out the door late. Was I harsh with my description of how to actually disable her caps lock key? Maybe. But it was an actual real way to do it, so it was informative, and to her possibly helpful. But before you freak out on me saying something, reread it, and ask yourself why I might be saying something. If after rereading and asking why, and possibly checking to see if your chair leg/wheel isn't sitting on your possible oxygen hose, if you still find me an as* for saying it. Well fine i'm an ass. I never claimed I was the nicest guy around to some others. And my defensive mechanism isn't jokes, my defensive mechanism is to either call the police or beat the crap out of the offending party (speaking for real life). I am quite comfortable with who I am, given being skr00d with CF. I can play armchair psychologist ping pong all day if you would like, today is my long boring day and we now have the internet.
