I am very interested in becoming a lawyer for people with disabilities, go figure! Anyway, I noticed a couple of people on this website were lawyers, where did you go to school?
Thanks for any information! I'm really excited that I finally figured out what I really want to do.

columbia university law school in new york city. i came here from emory university in atlanta where i was an english/women's studies major with a minor in history. graduated in 2007 and loved it so much i never left!

tips:
-study HARD for the LSAT -- it matters!
-apply to a wide range of schools, even if your score/grades indicate you'll get in to your top choice. always have safety schools.
-major in the humanities or social sciences, NOT pre-law. i can't stress that enough, honestly. don't do it.
-study really hard in undergrad. if you didn't get good grades, test well, and have a lot of good activities be prepared to justify that.
-keep yourself as healthy as possible and be VERY aware of your health needs. always. you can't do well when you're sick.
-read One L and believe every word of it. then forget it and go to law school anyway <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

good luck

Thank you for your response. You have done a lot for 28 years old. That's great. I really wish I would have started when I was a lot younger. I can't help feeling that I don't have enough time to do what I really want to. I'm 42 yrs. old. I feel I waited too long and it seems silly to go through all the work to graduate with a law degree and only be able to work for a little while, if at all. I think I'm going to have to settle for Paralegal or something. I hate settling. In fact, that used to be one of my promises to myself that I would never settle. But, reality is settling in. I'm really bummed out right now I guess. I'm looking at my life and not feeling real good about it. Don't really know what to do. Thanks for your assistance though.
