Augmentin reaction?

Hello!
I was recently put on Augmentin for my 8 week long cold and since I started the 2 week course, I haven't been able to eat much of anything. Food is just so unappetizing right now and when I do eat, it goes right through. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar reaction to Augmentin. I was also recently moved up to Creon 20 and wondering if the combination of the two are causing the digestive problems? Anyway, gotta love Boost!
Hope all is well,
Jamie 18w/cf

You might want to take some acidopholis to help with your digestion. It will add
good bacteria to your intestines.

Hi,
Augmentin is known for upsetting the stomach. Make sure you take it with food.
Hope you feel better soon!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'm still on the Augmentin, and am taking Acidolpholus tablets. I've noticed a change in my appetite and digestion though. I'm fairly new to taking enzymes, and forget sometimes. Before I started the Augmentin course, my digestion wasn't so bad without enzymes. Now whenever I don't take the enzyme (Creon 20, 5 w/meals) I get a terrible reaction within the hour. Is it the combination of the Augmentin and not taking enzymes, or could it just be a sudden increase in the pancrease deficiancy? Just wondering if anyone else experianced same thing.
Hope all is well.

I haven't taken augmentin in years. I can tell you though I always hated that stuff. It made me so sick all the time it was awful. I hope your doing better though and if you still feel like it's bothering you let your doc know maybe she can switch you to Cirpo or somethiing.

There are some antibiotics that I've taken (Cipro, doxycycline, etc) that have upset my stomach to the point that grease doesn't have a prayer of being digested, even w/ enzymes.
However, this symptom? goes away when I'm through w/ the course of antibiotics so I don't think you have to worry about your pancreas going downhill.
How do I put this...loose stools are unfortunately a side effect of many of the antibiotics out there.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

I am taking Augmentin 4000 mgs a day...I am also doing a Z pack 1000 mgs a day as well which I have never had trouble with before. I think the Augmentin is making me so tired I can harldy stay awake... My stomache is sick as well but that I am used to... I was wondering if anyone else has experienced extreme tiredness and weakness from Augmentin... I know that I am on a high dose but I can't seem to function feeling this way...
