Aztreonam Lysine

I may be the only one who had problems with it and had to stop it. I hated the eflow to be perfectly honest. It made the mist so dense that it took my breath away and i could not continue to inhale it. It got worse and worse with each dose so after a month i dropped out. My Nurse is trying to find out if my insurance will pay for Azyreonam for me to inhale in a regular nebulizer. It clearly wasnt the medicine that bothered me, it was the density that the eflow produced it to be. I hope you have better luck with it then i did John. I'm sure you will.

It's possible I won't be able to tolerate it either since I can't tolerate any other inhaled abx. Currently, the only thing I can handle with the eflow is the hypertonic saline and that's at only about 3.5 percent. I can't even handle pulmozyme in the eflow. So what you say does concern me. Hopefully this doesn't happen. That said there have been no studies with the aztreonam in a regular neb so I would be hesistant to use since I wouldn't know how much of the dose is getting to my lungs. I would be concerned about resistance.

Have you tried these ( tobi, pulmozyme) in a regular nebulizer? Maybe its just the eflow. It does make the mist so unbelievably dense which can be irritating. I dont ever want to use that thing again.
