My CF doc's opinion was that it was because patients did TOBI in the off month of Aztreonam and that the FDA then wasn't sure if it was the TOBI or Aztreonam that was really causing the improved FEV1. Again, this was just my CF doc's opinion.

I don't do TOBI at all. Never worked for me. I haven't noticed any side effects from AZLI. I too did hear of them doing trials alternating with TOBI and AZLI though. So far I'm still just doing AZLI every other 28 days and then when I am off it and get sick, they usually have to put me on Levaquin or something.

i just have to pip in and agree with sonia. i don't use tobi at all because it gives me awful headaches. although i can tolerate tobra. but i do not ever inhale tobi, docs have pushed it for a while and no longer push it cause of the headaches.
