Hi,

I have Cepacia and I started culturing it when I was 14. It it suspected that I got it from playing outside in the dirt.
The organism itself hasn't caused me any grief, but the stigma attached to it sure has!

Hi my name is Jamie and I have had Cepacia since I was 13yrs old....I am now 29. I had to have a double lung transpalant December of 2007. I am now over 7 months out & have no rejection. As for Cepacia, I had cepacia/pnumonia within the first week of my transplant..miraculously I survived. My recent Bronchoscopy/lung tissue did not culture Cepacia. I had genomavar 7. So to much contrary CF/Cepacia can be transplanted. You can check out my blog to learn more about my transplant pre & post at jamiebug.blogspot.com
