Back pain

Does anyone experience back pain when they are sick. lately my back has been killing me and I have been coughing so much and so hard and then throwing up really hard. I am hoping it's just due to the coughing and maybe I pulled some muscles. I just wanted to know if anyone else gets this too.

Lately, I've been having lots of muscle pain. Some days it's only when I cough really hard, and some days it appears as if from nowhere. I've just been living on Ibuprofin. I know this isn't helpful... just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

Are you throwing up due to coughing or do you have the flu bug that is going around? When I had the flu my back hurt so bad!!! I hope you feel better soon.

My back aches terribly when I cough hard or I know it sounds weird but my arms will ache just below the elbows. I don't know its strange. But I take ibuprophen too. Becky

Thanks. But I throw up because I am coughing sooo hard. And usually it only happens in the morning because I have a g-tube and do overnight feeds so a full tummy and coughing isn't a great combo!

Hi everyone, I went to my GP last week because I too have had what he describes as possible muscular pain. My pain seems to be centered more to the left of my neck /shoulder upper back area. The 42 ibuprofen [200mg tabs] 2x2daily have not run out yet, they are numbing the pain which always seem to be worse at night when I lie down, Am not coughing so much, so maybe it could have occured thru' playing tennis and not doing some warming up exercises first!!! Sometimes I have lower back pain too, If I have spent too long in bed... in the mornings its difficult to sit up in bed, it seems to fade once I get mobile.
Cheers.

Whenever I'm coughing really hard my upper back and abs hurt like no other! A heat pack should help and Aleve is much better than ibuprophen, I think so anyway.

I've just got over an infection and during, it every night when I would lie down to go to sleep my lower back would be like stiff. It wasn't painful as such but it was "achey" all the same. The pain wouldnt last more then about 30 seconds. I also would get it when i would stand up after sitting. I was diagnosed with mild oesteopenia(spelling?) in Nov in my knee and hip so its possible this could be the source..Shamrock x
