Bacterial Infection...

I usually need at least 3 days of Diflucan (sp) for a yeast infection (or other issues down there). Are you on a birth control pill? I'm on Yaz, which I like, other than, before I start my period, I get yeast infection symptoms. Sooo annoying.
Let us know what your dr. says.
Good luck getting this figured out.

hi cutecurlz - there are a lot of vaginal infections - fungal, bacterial .....ask to be checked for them and if it is possible you might have one, for sexual infections such as chlamydia or gonorrhea. ( I work in a family planning / women's health clinic so I naturally think of these infections too). I can get itchy/discharge when estrogen is low (after ovulation or after menopause) and have been thinking of keeping tea tree oil suppositories at home ... the clinical staff where I work sometimes suggest boric acid for bacterial vaginosis.

Not that this helps you right now, but when this first started....had you just finished a run of antibiotics (oral or IV)?? If so, whenever I take any sort of antibiotic, I also start taking a pill called Lactinex. It counteracts the effects that antibiotics can have causing massive yeast infections. It is over the counter and generally about $10 or $11 a bottle. Again, not that this helps right now, but maybe for the future. I hope you get it all figured out <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

If so, whenever I take any sort of antibiotic, I also start taking a pill called Lactinex. It counteracts the effects that antibiotics can have causing massive yeast infections. It is over the counter and generally about $10 or $11 a bottle. Again, not that this helps right now, but maybe for the future.
