Bactrim DS

I dont know if Bactrim DS & Bactrim are the same .. I get what is called a fixed drug eruption.. It's a spot a little smaller than an egg, that gets itchy, and gets redder as time goes by.. It becomes brownish when the abx is discontinued but takes weeks , if not months to go away completely ..

Yes, my goodness, I've experienced pain while on Bactrim. Normally in the past I've only been on it for a couple of weeks. I experienced general muscle and bone pain, nothing Tylenol or IBprofen couldn't handle.

Almost a year ago though I was on it for a month and along with the general achiness, I got severe back pain. It gradually got worse and worse until it was hard to stand, move, sit comfortably, etc.

I went off the Bactrim and it took almost a week for the pain to go away. I have cultured staph, not MRSA, constantly throughot my life, but have been staph free in all my cultures since last summer! It makes me feel a bit better about all that pain I went through.

Bactrim DS is simply Bactrim Double Strength.
