Bad news about denufosol trials :-(

I am sad to be the bearer of bad news this morning but I wanted you to know this:


There was very disappointing news regarding the Inspire clinical program for denufosol.The trial did not achieve its primary endpoint for lung function improvement.

I am SO bummed. Inspire is going to keep digging into the data. It's confusing because earlier trials showed real promise.

unfortunate, but I did the trial an did not experience any kind of improvement. I thought maybe it was because I was pretty healthy and therefore didn't see much of a change.

What I really don't understand is that there were never extremely significant results in FEV1. The hope for this drug from what I read was to delay progression, but it was measured against a metric that didn't fit what sounded to be the drugs promise, a delay in progression.
Hopefully there were some learnings from this and the data can be fed into the next development.
