BFP!!!

I finally got my BFP today! I am absolutely elated. This is the first time I've actually tested as this is the first time I've been late for my period (and I am extremely regular). I was still pretty sure it'd be negative, b/c I am only one day late and I haven't had any major symptoms, but I took three different tests and all were positive!

I plan on telling DH tonight at dinner, and I am probably going to tell our parents when we see them at Christmas. I am going to wait and tell friends/extended family until 8-12 weeks. How soon after the BFP did you see your OB? I've already e-mailed my doctor and nurse at the CF clinic, and they e-mailed me back with the number for a high risk OB at that hospital. I will call tomorrow, but I am not sure they'll be able to fit me in before we leave for the holidays (next Friday). I would feel so much better telling the parents if I had a real doctor tell me I was pregnant though!

Aaahhhh I am just filled with so many emotions right now. I don't know if I've ever been so grateful/excited about something in my life.

Congrats!!! Another CF mama due in August! As long as you're taking some extra folic acid there really isn't anything an OB can/will do for you right now. It is common practice not to see newly pregnant women till 8-12 weeks. Mine doesn't like to see you before 7 weeks. I'm going at exactly 7 weeks because I need an early ultrasound for my piece of mind (recent miscarriage). Pregnancy tests don't give false positives and you don't have your period - so you're pregnant. There isn't anything special an OB will tell you. So relax and have fun telling DH.

And you don't really need a high risk OB - they can be helpful if you need IVs or such but they tend to be overly cautious. I saw one in tandem with my regular OB w/ my son. I'll probably do the same this time but haven't made up my mind (though it does make my regular OB feel better). You could also elect to see a midwife.
