Biaxin 500 mg

I was on Clarithromycin Suspension 500mg daily for about two years. I did find it worked for about 18 months or so. I switched back to Azithromycin about six months ago. I like taking the Azithromycin better since I only have to take 500mg three times per week. I hope you have success with the Clarithromycin. I did find this medication upsetting to my stomach if I did not take it with a snack or meal. Good luck to you.

Thanks hockeykid! I took my second dose about 3 hours ago and had the worst upset stomach-ugh. I didn't get sick-but felt like I could! I took it with food-but not much. I also had coffee with it so maybe tomorrow morning I will skip the coffee and eat a big breakfast! I called my clinic and they said it is a normal side effect but if it gets worse or I throw up to call them.
Meds are no fun!

Just a side note...

I don't have cf, but was put on biaxin several years ago for pneumonia. I remember a friend telling me he couldn't handle it due to stomach upset. My only issue was that my mouth tasted like metal -- had a nasty metallic taste and when I mentioned it to my doctor he thought I was weird. I later read it was a common side effect.
