Ah-got it-yep-symptomatic <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Darn it! But hopefully this kicks it and I don't have to be on antibiotics for awhile! Thanks for the info! And I didn't know that staph helps PA from colonizing..very interesting info!

Notice how I wrote about that docs don't treat it unless you're symptomatic. Which is exactly in line with what you said you have experienced. You have had symptoms (cough, fatigue, sputum) so you were treated.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hey Marci,

I am currently taking Clarithromycin, have been for about 7 mos now.. Amazingly (at least to me lol) i am allergic to Biaxin , i get something called a fixed drug eruption.. Oh well i hope you dont have any reaction..

Hey Joni! I am confused-I have Clarithromycin...which is generic for Biaxin...so how can you be on the Clarithromycin if you are allergic to Biaxin? Aren't they the same thing?? I just looked up fixed drug reaction-yikes! These antibiotics are necessary but can be scary!

When I took my meds this morning my stomach was not happy. Ugh. I took it with food-but it didn't seem to help. I am drinking a glass of milk right now to see if that helps at all. Plus I am super drowsy. I am not sure if it is the antibioitics, or the muscle relaxer I took 12 hours ago for my TMJ (jaw). I just hope it is not going to be like this for 2 weeks while I am on the antibiotics, I have work, school, and 2 small kids! Yikes! But-my lungs are important so I am going to tough it out!
