Birth Control switch

If you're going simply for controlling your periods using hormones, then I'm of no help.

If you're looking for comfortable, effective contraception (i.e. pregnancy prevention) then I recommend an IUD.

If having kids is NOT an option for any reason, then don't risk the "oops" and consider something permanent. It's a difficult choice to make, but for some it's truly the best way to protect their health and wellbeing.

I also recommend the IUD if you are seeking contraceptives. I never used the pill or anything hormonal to control my periods or as a contraceptive.

I've been using the NuvaRing for about 4 years now and love it! I have never used any other type of BC, so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

It's easy to use, convenient, and I think it bypasses a lot of the issues you have with pills because the ring's hormones get absorbed right into your blood stream.
