bloating, enzymes and BM questions

Sometimes it's bloating, and other times it could be because there's a lot of stuff getting backed up in your intestines. If you're not taking the right number of enzymes, it can turn into sludge in there and just take up space. Sounds gross, but that's what happens. Also, if there's stuff blocking you up in there, gas and other BM can get backed up behind it. Are you having stomach aches with the bloating?

2005CFMom, if you open up the capsules, their contents don't activate in the right part of the gut to help you absorb the medication. That's why the package says "do not crush or chew" on it. You'd be wasting the med to open it and sprinkle it on food. They might have said that's a good way to get an infant to eat it (like in applesauce or something) but it's not the right way.

I agree with Wheezie... Miralax. You can get it just about anywhere (Target, Costco, Walgreens, etc) and one capful in juice right after dinner every day does the trick for me. Try it for about two weeks and see if you notice a difference! It made a huge difference for me and now I won't go a day without it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Well, these posts on constipation are over a year old, but I thought I would reply for anyone that is looking for info now. If you are constipated because of higher enzymes doses, try a ton of fiber and/or Miralax as mentioned earlier. When your body is digesting well, you will have firmer stools and if you don't eat enough fiber, constipation will happen. The Miralax is also great because it keeps you cleaned out so that bacteria has less opportunity to grow in the intestinal tract.
