Bloating

Does anyone bloat after they eat? I get really bad, so bad I could
be mistaken for pregnant. I'm actually on pills now that I take
before I eat every meal. Just curious to see if this is a problem
for anyone else.

I bloat like crazy when I've eaten either really salty food, or a big portion of food. I don't get so bad that I look pregnant, but its bad enough that it actually hurts my stomach and I have to change into sweats.

i get bloated allll the time! i used to blame it on the girl stuf.... but maybe im wrong? i could seriously pass for pregnant sometimes, and sweats=my life as soon as i get home from school like everyday. should i get help? take beano? or something perscribed? i always get heart burn so i take non-perscribed zantac if its really bad, but usually just chomp on some tums....

so to answer your question...yes, times 239847876

Yep, I have the same problem, usually after a big meal. I don't quite get to the point of passing for preggers, though. I just kind of deal with it. Doesn't happen that often.

It varies with the meal. The bigger the meal and the faster I eat the more bloated I tend to get. If I take my time eating it tends to not be so bad. I do know that I usually bloat even if it is just a little because Kurt will pat my belly at night after dinner some nights cause it sticks out a bit. He thinks it is funny - that I am so tiny and will get this pooch belly after eating.

Side note I think it's funny the name of the thread is bloating and
then you look over and it says "sweetdeal" ...made me
chuckle...sorry off topic...sorta

Rokiss12,

If you get heartburn regularly you should get ur doctor to prescribe you something like zoton (don't know if you have that in the states) which you take everyday. Its not a bad tasting tablet at all, strawberry flavoured in fact! But its just that when you get heartburn it means that your enzymes can't work properly thus you're not getting all the nutrients from the food you eat...

thank you! my mom was talking about mentioning something actually on during my next hospital checkup... she thinks he would prescribe me zantac (higher does then the non-prescribed). so we'll see what happens next time...

thanks for the advice!

ALL THE TIME.....No matter what I eat or when or how....I am bloated 24/7. I look like I'm 6-7 months pregnant and the CF docs don't know why either. You are not alone. I eat a plain old sanwhich...I'm bloated til the next morning when I have a bowel movement even after that I'm still bloated but not as much. I've been like this since I can remember. 24/7 I am bloated with NO relief!!!

my fingers swell a great deal at night and early morning. i have to take off my rings after like 7pm and i can't put them back on until i've been awake in the morning for at least an hour. i have no idea if this is related or now.

I used to be like that. all the time bloated, no matter what. i
remember back in high school not eating for the whole day to avoid
being bloated for a dance. But the good news is I finally found a
doctor who believed me. I had to have a G.I. scope (i think
that's what it is called).  I'm on a pill called modulon that
I have to take 15-30 minutes before eating. It worked like magic
the first couple of years, but I think the effectiveness is wearing
out.<br>

It's so nice to know that there are people who understand what I go
through. Seriously, go to your doctor, and if s/he does not help,
go to another one until they help. I ended up seeing a gastro
(something) specialist  and went through a few different pills
before we found one that worked. I'll never forget the first time I
took the pill and it worked - it was amazing.
