Do we seriously need this many? I understand we have a very diverse user base...I understand that encompasses husbands, wives, children, pets, pet rocks...I mean, some blogs will probably be popular amongst us, but do we really need this many angles to segment us? I remember when these same blogs = posts on the adult forum interest wise. I dunno, I'm about to have a round watterbaloon fight with myself, it doesn't matter what I think...THough everytime we have a new reason to specialize our interest, means we don't talk to the others as much as we should.

Well, for me, there's a lot of things I say on my blog that I would not/could not say on the forum otherwise, because people would attack me for being negative or whatever. For me, it's a place to vent my feelings about how I'm doing at the moment, and only those that care need to view it or comment.

I do wonder why we have so many that seem to have nothing in them.

I like them because when I read a post I can check the blog to see who this person is. (Cuz the profiles don't really say anything) That way I don't have to ask redundant questions.

I can't say cause I haven't had time to check out most of them, but I have totally noticed less posting and chatting here. Not good!!

I think its of benefit. Those that are new here or dont have time to post regularly or chat can get info about a person (details obviously is up to the blow owner) and if contacting them is a benefit then they will. There are many that havent been used yet & might never be. I am sure it has a decrease in posts & chats, but its not like the info doesnt exist at all. Its all still quite new. Once people get updated on others & have a feel in general I think things will return to a more normal status.

well i am 25/f/cf and in all my 25 years on earth have never had the pleasure of meeting or even talking to anyone else with cf. when i found this website i was very happy because i also suffer from agoraphobia (fear of leaving the house) so the only time i leave the house is for dr appts. last year i was hospitalized for the first time ever with a collapsed lung and was there for a month. i found out then that i didn't have as many "friends" as i thought i had. my dr. also told me that i need to get on the lung transplant list. so, just to recap, since august of 2005: i had to quit my job, found out i had no real friends, had to come to the realization that i couldn't avoid a lung transplant, and become agoraphobic. so, i found this website and thought having a blog would be a good way to vent (since i have no one at all to talk to) and maybe finally meet some people who would understand me and, dare i say, make some friends! well, i would have never tried to join the clique if i thought my having a blog would upset some people. thanks for making me feel so welcome. oh, by the way, this is my first post because i've been reading some blogs trying to see what other people go through--i have a lot of bad days and didn't want to be a dark cloud to everyone else. thats also why my blog is still empty.

p.s. i've been enjoying the pictures of everyone and their families! you're all beautiful!

I enjoy reading the blogs- they are more personal than the forums.

But I wish there was a way to know if a blog has been updated so I don't have to check them all to read new stuff.

I have really enjoyed the blogs, getting to know so much more about everyone has been great. I, like Malanie, have never talked with anyone else with CF before this site. So hearing all the stories and learning more about everyone has been very enlightening and invaluable for me. However, I have thought on multiple occasions now, that at one time there could be up to 11-15 users online but no new posts and no new interesting topics. I've summed it up to the fact that everyone is updating their blogs or reading others. I agree with what Melissa said too, that once everyone settles in it will *hopefully* get back a little to the way it was with more communication in the main forum. Maybe everyone could make an extra effort to spend a little less time in their blogs (me included!) and focus a little more time and energy back at the forum just as a way to help maintain the effectiveness of this community. Just a thought, and I'll try to do that.

I think also the blogs offer more readong material for when you have the time to read and are up to date with all the posts already. Sometimes I need something to kill time while I'm doing the treatments. And this has been an awesome place for that, whether it's forum or the blogs.

I realized having a water balloon fight with yourself while drunk isn't that much fun, so I went to sleep.

it takes a lot to change an attitude and get a new perspective on things. hopefully this site will be a great inspriation to you and make your dark days a little brighter... and may i day you are not alone with your dark days, we all have them and it is up to us whether we soak in it or rise above it through our own strengths and help from others... i'm sure you find a weath of information and support here...

best of luck and don't worry about being negative...we all have bad days and hopefully we can help you brighten your life...

Melanie, that's why I have a blog. My life is rarely merry happy sunshine land, but your blog is one place where you are allowed to be yourself. Write whatever you want in there.

I am just waiting for you to post your blog. How long must we
wait! Hey it might be a good way for you to get out all of
your obvious pent up sexual frustrations with Allie!</end quote>

So if you post on someones blog who has a restraining out against you, is that in violation?

I like the blogs. I think it's a nice way to get to know people - especially if you are new to the site.

I really would like something that indicates which blogs have been updated since I last signed in - like there is for the topics.
For me that feature would be important enough that I would be OK with the idea of having a separate blog overview page instead of a listbox to choose from on the main page.

SeanD- Allie took out a restraining order against me (since I stalk her) and I'm still able to post!

Lets compare notes! I know for a fact that she gets up at 10:13 on Sunday mornings, and turns backside to the mirror and curses the day she got my name tattoed there. Then she moves onto mass production of Matza Ball soup. She's a good girl and all, but come on. You think she would be past that whole name tattoo thing ya know?
