blood streaked sputum?

Hey,

I always get more blood streaks and sometimes outright bleeds around my period. Generally after about a month post-hospital I start getting streaks in my mucus though and obviously my health status isn't very good since I'm waiting for a transplant!
I never change my care routine unless I have a major bleed, then I give it 24 hours to settle down before I do any more pulmozyme or anything, but with streaking I don't worry as in myself I haven't noticed that streaking leads to big bleeds at all.
Don't worry,
Frito

THis is a very interesting study..thanks for sharing.
I am on the depo-prevera shot (I am also very anemic) so the less blood-loss the better.

I have found my health to be generally better when on the depo-shot than when I went off (for 2 years).

AS soon as I went back on the shot, I improved.

I usually get that too. My body seems to freak out when my hormone levels change. I think what happens is that we become slightly anemic because we're losing blood elsewhere, so elsewhere in our bodies (our lungs specifically) we end up having a small bleed in response. Just a theory.

It usually goes away within a couple hours. I don't skip the vest when that happens, I just make sure to take an iron supplement during that time of the month and drink water that's been salted to accomodate the imbalance in my bod.
