Wow! I just posted a topic about something wicked similiar about 5 minutes ago! I decided to read the forum and catch up since it's been a wee bit. It sounds like just what I had! I googled it, (and although you can't always take everything one finds on the web) my results came up with Hypertropic Pulmonary Osteoarthropathy. This I guess is also a component in finger clubbing. I guess its essentially episodic arthritis-like pain and aches. I had the aches yesterday and now they are completely gone. I called my doctor just to fill them in and I don't know if they'll have any more information. I hope you feel better and hopefully we'll figure out what it is!
